We LIVE to Serve our Community

Community Service

Our Sisterhood prides itself in volunteering countless hours into making our Community a better place and being good citizens. Not only do we go out in Burlington and serve, but we give our time to organizations on campus and volunteer to help make their programming successful.

In the past, Epsilon Zeta Chapter has volunteered for the following organizations:

Women Helping Battered Women.

- In 2010, we helped raise over $500 in their annual Phone-a-Thon

Sisterhood Circle at the ASC

-Sisters volunteered to cook the meal for this monthly gathering, that focuses on providing a safe space for womyn at the University.

Burlington Parks and Recreation's Halloween Haunted Walk

-Sisters and Interests set up decorations for the yearly walk at Leddy Park frequented by children and families.

Spectrum Youth and Family Services in Downtown Burlington

-Sisters helped clean the space, so that homeless youth will have a comfortable area to go to.

 Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf

-Cooked, served and cleaned the kitchen and serving area for folks looking for a hot meal.

For the past three years, sisters of EZ have volunteered for The Black Student Unions Soul Food Social and Alianza Latinas Comida Para La Gente and Noche de Cultura not only by cooking delicious meals that will be served, but helping serve and distribute the food through out the event as well.

Not only do we pride ourselves on our community service in Burlington, but we go back to our hometown in NEW YORK CITY, to serve our communities there.

- In Fall 2010, we helped FEEDNYC in their annual efforts to pack boxes of food and deliver them to homeless shelters for the Thankgiving holiday.

-In that same break, we volunteered with NYCares to make Hanukkah cards for senior citizens.
